Method

Criteria and method

How a finished comparison is meant to work. None of these steps has been run against datasheets in this version.

Which entries are included

The comparison includes Zaptec Go, Zaptec Go 2, Zaptec Pro, Easee Charge Max, Charge Amps Halo, Charge Amps Aura, DEFA Power, and Tesla Wall Connector (Gen 3).

Older Easee Charge and Easee Home are not recommended for a new installation. The Swedish Consumer Agency says sale, second-hand resale, and reinstallation of the affected models remain prohibited. Units already installed may stay in use. Easee One is single-phase and the manufacturer does not list it for Sweden.

Criteria we intend to use

Once sources exist we will compare fit with the building’s supply, load balancing, socket or cable, installation, app or meter follow-up, warranty, and total cost.

Safety and documentation outweigh a feature list. A claim without a source is not published as fact.

What it takes for a field to leave “pending”

A primary source, such as the manufacturer’s current datasheet for that exact version, with a date. Shop copy alone is not enough for power, phases, or load balancing.

Price needs a dated source and a clear boundary: hardware only, or hardware plus installation. A rating needs a described method. None of that is here yet.

When a pick is published

A pick is published only after the criteria have been applied to sourced fields. Until then the card stays pending, without a model name.

Independence and affiliate links

A future affiliate link is advertising and should look like advertising. It will use rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", will not decide inclusion, and may be absent even when a product is listed.

Tesla Wall Connector links to Evify for purchase with installation. Until an Adtraction address exists, the button goes to Evify’s product page and is labelled as an ad. It does not decide the pick. The other models link to the manufacturer. No Tesla referral links are used.

Guide

Buying guide

A practical order to think in. It does not replace an electrician and it does not name a winner.

Start with the house, not the advert

The main fuse, the number of phases, and what already loads the board matter more than a kilowatt headline. Have an installer assess the supply before you commit to a model.

An apartment building or a shared association often needs permission as well as hardware. This guide starts from a detached house.

Power is a ceiling, not a promise

A charger can be rated higher than the house can supply while other equipment is on. What matters is what the installation can carry at the same time.

We do not type kilowatts onto the models. The figure has to come from a datasheet and from the design of the installation.

Load balancing when the fuse is tight

Load balancing reduces charging when the house draws more current, so the main fuse does not trip. It is often relevant, and not automatically required.

Which units have it, and whether it needs extra hardware, stays pending.

Socket or tethered cable

Some units use the car’s cable. Others have a tethered cable. The difference is daily use, wear, and installation. The models are not classified here.

An outdoor place asks more of the enclosure than a garage. Read that on the product, do not assume it.

Installation is its own part of the purchase

Fixed electrical work should be done by a firm allowed to do it. Check the installer. The Swedish National Electrical Safety Board is the place for questions of authorisation.

Cable route, drilling, and the board can cost more than the unit. We do not publish price ranges.

Price and the green deduction

Compare the whole quote: hardware, labour, materials, and travel. A low unit price says little about the bill.

The green deduction is a tax reduction with rules at the Swedish Tax Agency. Amounts and percentages are not stated here.

Questions

Common questions

Which home charger is best in 2026?

There is no published test result yet. The cards in the shortlist stay pending until the evidence is checked, so the page does not name a winner early.

What does a home charger cost?

A price is published once it has a dated source. Expect installation to cost more than the unit and compare the whole quote. Until then the price column stays pending.

How does the green deduction work for a charger?

It is a tax reduction regulated by the Swedish Tax Agency. We state no amount and no percentage. Read the current conditions at the agency and on the topic page.

Do I need load balancing?

It depends on the main fuse and the other loads. On the models in the comparison, balancing against the whole house needs an extra accessory. The load-balancing page names each one.

Can I trust the affiliate links?

There are no affiliate links in this version. If they are added they will be marked as advertising, use rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", and will not affect the selection.

Can I buy an older Easee Charge?

Not for a new installation. The Swedish Consumer Agency says sale, second-hand resale, and reinstallation of the affected models remain prohibited. Units already installed may stay in use. Easee Charge Max is a different model and is in the comparison. Easee One is single-phase and is not listed for Sweden.

Who should install the charger?

Fixed electrical work should be done by a firm allowed to do it. Check the installer. Questions of authorisation belong with the Swedish National Electrical Safety Board.
